Do Not Look Back
God has forgiven us of our sins and has forgotten about them. He has given those who have repented in the name of Jesus a second chance. He has erased your sin and buried it. So why do we still feel this guilt and shame all the time ?...because satan will always use your past against you when you turn to the LORD because it’s the only evidence he has of your past life to instil fear into your mind. However, if God has forgiven you, that sin is NO LONGER EVIDENCE the devil can use against you.
So in other words the bible says you are set free because God says you are set free through the blood of Jesus Christ our personal saviour.
All that’s left is for YOU to believe and trust in what God is telling you and to follow his commands. DO NOT look back at your past life and you will find everlasting Joy and peace.
BUT the problem is too many of us are putting question marks where God has put a fullstop. We are still trying to understand why or how something happened in our lives. We still holding on to all the times people wronged us or vice versa, rather than embracing your new life and the new you.
Lot, his wife and two daughters were given mercy from the LORD and were told to flee from a place full of sin so that when the city of Sodom was destroyed their lives would be spared. Told NOT TO LOOK BACK by two angels Lots wife Gomorrah looks back and turns into a pillar of salt.
When you hear about a pillar of salt you would think about hardness and bitterness and that’s what the devil want us to be.
God has set us free and has told us to live in the present through scripture- but satan will remind us of our sins and instead of praying and asking the LORD for guidance we fall into his tricks and look back at our past.
Like a pillar of salt is hard and bitter when we look back at our past or live in our past our hearts become hardened and we become bitter people too! Our past sins will consume us and withold us from seeing the blessings given to us by our Father in heaven.
So the message is simple when you ask God for forgiveness, make sure you have accepted the Lord Jesus into your life as your Lord and personal saviour in order to be saved and forgiven properly.
Moving forward, when you have been forgiven trust in God and believe that you have been set free. Don’t be held by fear and don’t let the devil put guilt and shame into your mind because the sin he reminds you of is a sin of the person you are no longer.
Therefore we should no longer feel guilt and shame but instead leave our old selves behind and live in the name of Jesus by following the LORDS commands and being a disciple of Jesus.
Last thing: DO NOT LOOK BACK !!! Keep marching forward in the name of Jesus.
